The Belize Youth Training Institute aims to empower youth and their families for employment and learning, to maximize their potential in a learning environment that is supportive, informal and positive. It will provide an array of relevant technical and developmental services that will propel youth towards personal competence, empowerment and employment. The institute will seek to provide learning opportunities with a focus on developing vocational skills and employment. Our continuum of learning and employment programs and services is accessed by learners in whatever manner makes sense to the achievement of their goals. Most learning is self-paced, individualized and self-directed with the support of our staff. The atmosphere of the institute is inviting and promotes child-friendly spaces, conducive for learning and exploration, empowering youth to be connected to high-quality learning and development opportunities that expand their skills and capacities for success in life. The training institute will seek to connect its trainees to a network focused on improving quality and expanding access to professional learning opportunities, working as a hub to link youth to further training and employment opportunities in Belize. Through our skills-training programs, we will continue to positively contribute to youth development and building social capital, where resources and opportunities are equitably available for all youth across Belize.
